Our distinct MEng Electrical Engineering builds upon the BEng Electrical Engineering programme with advanced engineering topics, management studies, industrial law and group projects, in which you will tackle wide-ranging engineering challenges. You will also have the opportunity to gain industrial experience through vacation employment.
A particular feature of the course is a group project, either working with a real customer from industry or transferring technology from the University into industrial practice, with a chance to exercise both self and team management skills.
The programme has been specifically designed to meet the increasing demand from industry for electrical engineers with cross-disciplinary skills. We have excellent relationships with employers, and have our own Careers Hub website. We also run an annual careers fair.

Accreditation
Our MEng Electrical Engineering degree is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and we are a member of the IET Power Academy bringing opportunities for generous scholarships.
Programme Structure
Students undertake four years of study. Each year there are compulsory modules. However, the degree has been designed to maximise student choice by allowing you to tailor the degree structure to suit your own interests. You will have the unique opportunity to study and research experimentally and theoretically, across a wide range of subjects. In each year, you will be involved with design and build projects, developing confidence and the skills to deliver working prototypes.
This programme can also be offered with a year in industry.
