Alexandros Zenonos

Postgraduate research student

Personal homepage

My name is Alexandros Zenonos and I am from Nicosia, Cyprus. I studied Computer Science at the University College London where I graduated with First Class Honours. I also received a master's degree in Advanced Computing from Imperial College London. Experience in research helped me develop a wide range of transferable skills; problem solving, teamwork, eagerness for continuous learning. Currently, I am a PhD student in the Agents, Interaction and Complexity (AIC) group of the school of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton under the supervision of Prof. Nick Jennings and Dr. Sebastian Stein

Research

Research interests

My research focuses on applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the mobile crowdsourcing domain and specifically on participatory sensing for environmental monitoring. More details about my interests:

  • Machine Learning (Gaussian Processes for Spatio-Temporal Modelling, Unsupervised Learning)
  • Artificial Intelligence (Heuristic Search, Approximation Algorithms, Dynamic Programming, Stochastic Algorithms)

I am also interested in applications concerning smart cities, human health and wellbeing in general.
