Interests: behavioural/algebraic approaches to multidimensional systems, control of auv's, flow control, iterative learning and repetitive control --- theory and experimental verification, rehabilitation robotics, systems with repetitive dynamics
Although born elsewhere, my family home is on a farm at Newmills, a small village in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Currently I am professor of Control Systems Theory and Design in ECS. My current research interests include iterative learning control, repetitive control, predictive-repetitive control, rehabilitation robotics, systems with repetitive dynamics, grid sensor networks and AUVs. A particular feature of my research is long-standing international collaboration with groups in Poland, Germany, Australia and elsewhere. I am currently the Editor-in-Chief of The International Journal of Control.
