Biography

Geoff Merrett was awarded a first class honours degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton in 2004, where he subsequently studied for a Ph.D in the Electronic Systems and Devices research group. Following the submission of his thesis on 'Energy- and Information-Managed Wireless Sensor Networks: Modelling and Simulation' in October 2008, he has been a lecturer in the School of Electronics and Computer Science since December 2008. His current and future research interests are in the areas of wireless sensing and sensor networks for medical applications, and he founded and chairs an ECS interest forum on wireless sensing. He is the author of a number of journal and conference publications in the area of wireless sensor networks, an active reviewer for a number of internationally renowned journals, and a member of the IET.
