Huma Zia is a first year PhD student in the school of Electronics & Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton. Before starting her PhD, she had been working as an Assistant Professor at NED University of Engineering & Technology since 2010. She was engaged in teaching theory and laboratory courses at undergraduate level such as Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Microprocessor Theory and Application and, Fundamentals of Computer Engineering . She has also taught a graduate level course of ‘Introduction to Programming System Design’. Before joining Academia, she worked in ‘Advance Engineering Research Organisation’ as an Assistant Manager for about four years. There she was involved with design and development of various Motorola and ARM microcontroller based Embedded Systems using C and Embedded Linux. Her projects included independent development of a Testing Software in LABView using National Instruments Data Acquisition cards, and a Field Support Equipment. She also worked on design and verification of SIMD microprocessor using VHDL besides working on Philips audio and video platforms using C language.
