Biography

I am currently in the first year of my PhD research in the AIC group. I am fortunate to be part of the Doctoral Training Centre of the Institute for Complex Systems Simulation (ICSS) which means that my post-graduate education occurs over the course of four years, the first of which is a taught component similar in structure to a Masters degree. I have completed this taught component to a level equivalent to a Distinction. A particularly novel element of the ICSS is the opportunity to interact with fellow students from many disciplines and be exposed to fields that may not have been presented before. It is through this opportunity that I have begun my three year research component in the AIC group.

Prior to entering the DTC, I completed a four year MPhys degree in Physics with Photonics, achieving First Class Honours and taking the prize (jointly) for top final year research project. I commenced this academic period of my life as a mature student having worked in several jobs prior to coming to Southampton.
