Postgraduate research student

As an academic staff of a leading university in Nigeria, I proceeded on acquiring a PhD from the University of Southampton's world-reknown Department of Electronics and Computer Science. I had acquired a Masters' degree in Automation and Control from Newcastle University (2009). After my masters' degree, I worked in a manufacturing organization as an Automation Engineer for a couple of years. Together with my love for teaching, my  interest in contributing towards the development of students in all levels began to grow. For this reason, I moved into academia by becoming an assistant lecturer in the university back home.

Whilst studying for my PhD here, I have continued to develop my skills and interests- I have been trained as a demonstrator in the University of Southampton, having attended Introduction to Teaching Skills for PGRS Parts 1 & 2.

Research interests

My research interests are a result of a quest I have for contributing towards energy stability in Nigeria. As a PhD student within ECS, my research interests are largely centred around developing tractable, scalable algorithms for shedding electric load on a grid, whilst optimizing grid performance (minimising social costs and maximising profits) and improving fairness.
