Biography

1990-2011 Engineering Fellow, NXP (Philips) Semiconductors. 4 days/week, based in Southampton UK, San Jose, CA, USA, and Caen France.
RF and Analogue System and IC architect for GSM/CDMA cellular, IEEE 802.11a/b/g WiFi, terrestrial and satellite TV baseband, optical disc front end, digital audio, automotive RF

1984-1990  GEC Research, London,  Design consultant, aerospace and telecom IC design

1974-1978 British Telecom, London

Currently Professor of IC design.

Duties

Teaching:

MEng/MSc level Analogue CMOS IC design;  

MEng/MSc level Integrated Design of RF Transceivers

Consultancy

Current consultancies in analogue/RF IC design under NDA

Consultant as expert witness for patent disputes

 

(While working for NXP/Philips no consultancies undertaken due to potential conflict of interest;
limited to specialised aerospace projects and design training courses.)
