MALIBU

Malibu was an eLib project working on Hybrid Libraries (which has now ended) - these contain physical books etc as well as digital
collections. The project developed and implemented a prototype hybrid library in each of the three major partner sites.

One of the challenges is to link up library databases (via Z39.50) with archives running different databases, plus external services such as BIDS so that queries pass to all data sources.
We built a search engine which could pass queries to libraries, museums, google, etc etc and collate results.
