Dr Andrea Margheri 

I am a Senior Research Fellow in the Cyber Security group and Research manager of the Cyber Security Academy, a Cyber Invest partnership between the University and major cyber security companies. I am Technology Fellow of the UK Cabinet Office for the exploitation of blockchain technology for Public services. 

I have a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Pisa (Italy). I received my BSc and MSc in Computer Science at the University of Firenze (Italy). My PhD thesis concerns the security of policy-based access control and self-adaptive systems; it proposes a formal framework for attribute-based policy that can be rigorously verified and deployed on Java-based systems.

Research interests

My research interests are in the cyber security of modern distributed systems, spanning over blockchain, data sharing services and privacy-enhancing technology, with application domains in healthcare, smart energy and data regulation compliance.
