The University of Southampton

Aaron Peter Page

Postgraduate research student

After recently gradutaing from ElectroMechanical Engineering (now know as Mechatronics) at the University of Southampton, I have followed my interestes in research through a Ph.D. I was recently named the runner up to the IMechE Mechatronics Engineer of the year award (2016) after being nominated by the University of Southampton for my Bachelors project looking into advanced robotic locomotion systems that combined wheel and leg gaits into a single device.

Research interests

Currently looking into producing a hybride based assistive rehabilitation device in the form of a sock using soft robotics and electrical stimulation.

Currently working with several other universities (including the University of the West of England, Nottingham, Strathclyde, Southampton and Loughborough and Bristol) as part of the 'Right Trousers Project’ a 2 million pound grant looking to help assist the elderly and those with mobility problems. My PhD will, hopefully, form one of two deliverables of the project – a mobility-assisting sock to help control and motion of the ankle when walking.
