Dr Shady Rizkalla

(Known as: Shady Agwa) received his BSc degree (2006) and MSc degree (2011) from Assiut University, both in Electrical Engineering. His master’s thesis was about the Reconfigurable Computing Architectures. In 2012, he joined the Center of Nanoelectronics and Devices, at Zewail City for Science and Technology as a Research Assistant, then he got a PhD in Electronics Engineering from The American University in Cairo (AUC) in 2018. During his PhD, Shady was exploring the power efficient digital design techniques in addition to the PVT variability mitigation techniques. In  January 2019, he joined Cornell University as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Computer Systems Lab for two years.  At Cornell University, Shady was working on different projects that span VLSI and Computer Architecture including many-core architecture evaluation and energy modeling, digital ASIC design, reconfigurable ALU, processing-in-memory, emerging devices for in/near-memory computing architectures.


Research interests

Different topics that span VLSI and Computer Architecture including emerging technologies, energy efficient digital design, resilient microarchitectures, reconfigurable architectures, and in/near-memory computing, asynchronous design, and stochastic computing.
