Silica Fibre Facilities

The imposing Silica Fibre facilities occupy over 160 sq.m of class 10,000 cleanroom space and comprise state-of-the-art fabrication equipment. The facility is capable of producing standard preforms and optical fibre.

Nanofabrication Cleanroom

The Southampton Nanofabrication Centre is a state-of-the-art facility for microfabrication and high-spec nanofabrication, as well as a wide range of characterisation capabilities housed in the New Mountbatten Complex.

Telecommunications Labs

The Telecommunications laboratories consist of three facilities that have benefitted from extensive investment. They are fitted with equipment required to undertake optical transmission and data processing.
