The New Mountbatten Building, which opened in October 2008, is one of Europe’s leading multidisciplinary state-of-the-art cleanroom complexes, providing flexible research space for nanotechnology and photonics. The building acts as a research base for the ECS Nano research group, for the Southampton Nanofabrication Centre, and for the Optoelectronics Research Centre.
