Biography

After graduating from Southampton University with a 2:1 in Engineering Acoustics and Vibration, I worked for nearly 2-years as an Underwater Acoustic Engineer for Marconi Underwater Systems. During this time I oversaw noise trails with Nuclear Submarines, continued to develop methods of locating discrete noise sources from underwater vehicles and researched anti-singing methods on propeller blades.

The next 6 years were spent leading a Christian Church in Southampton as a full time minister. During this time I developed leadership and speaking skills both inside and outside of the church context. My keen interest in music lead me to develop DJ'ing skills and played at many of the local clubs, The Commmon, Hoglands Park and even The Dell (the old Southampton FC stadium).

I left the employment of the church to join a local IT company which developed and sold a UML Modelling Tool. Taking the sales from nothing to over £2M in 15 months I was then, as Sales and Marketing Director, instrumental in positioning the company for its acquisition by TogetherSoft and later by Borland Software. During this time extensive travel to Europe and the USA was undertaken with extensive experience in board level negotiations.

Following this I started a number of businesses varying from Wine Importing, Dental Software Solutions, Financial Software Solutions, Software Development Consultancy, Process Management Consultancy and investing in social development projects overseas.

I then worked for two years at The Rose Bowl, the home of Hampshire Cricket where I oversaw Operations, Events, Golf, Facilities, IT, Leisure and Retail. I was responsible for staging concerts with The Who, Billy Joel and many International Cricket Events. A major delivery from this time was reducing the egress time for major event from 3 hours to 30 minutes.

The last two years have been spent working with a Southampton company that works with Not-for-Profits helping them with their communications, events, data systems and charity structures.
