Biography

I am currently writing up my PhD thesis focusing on why women choose to study and work in the IT industry and the different images that are conveyed. In a broader sense I am looking at 'the student experience' and focusing on the use of computers informally and how this influences decisions.

Throughout my PhD work I have had the opportunity to go into local schools, organise school visits to ECS and arrange family days in order to engage young people in computing.

I also founded the ECSWomens group which has helped raise the profile of women in computing within the school and faculty.

I am supervised by Professor Wendy Hall and Dr Su White.
